back to the throne room

How the kingdom works

Six rules. Nothing hidden, nothing permanent.

Claiming a throne

Enter a URL or @handle and a bid. If your bid beats the current #1's live strength, you take the crown outright. Bidding less still places you on the board, ranked by strength against everyone else.

Decay is constant

Every throne loses about 4.5% of its bid strength per hour, compounding, down to a floor of 15% of the original bid. Nothing is safe forever — reinforce your position by claiming again with a fresh bid.

Coups are a gamble

Instead of matching a throne's full price, stake a smaller amount and attempt a coup. Your odds equal your stake divided by the defender's current strength, so underdogs have a real, if slim, chance. Losing a coup strengthens the defender and marks them Untouchable.

The royal guard

Spend a moment hiring the royal guard to freeze your throne's decay for 6 hours. Guarded thrones can still be claimed outright or challenged in a coup — the guard only stops the clock, it doesn't stop rivals.

Hall of Legends

The ten largest bids ever placed are recorded permanently, immune to decay, resets, and coups. Getting knocked off the live board doesn't erase your name from history.

Badges

Founder, Usurper, Regicide, Untouchable, Dethroned, and Warlord badges are earned automatically based on how you play — no application required.
